This fall, anglers are invited to join Simon Gawesworth for an immersive three-day Steelhead focused, Spey casting school set in the heart of Alaska.

 TThe Alaska Spey School is hosted at Alaska Steelhead Co.’s new lodge. Guests will enjoy comfortable, newly built accommodations alongside a focused, hands-on learning experience designed to improve both confidence and efficiency on the water.

The Alaska Spey School offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from Simon Gawesworth, one of the most respected instructors in the sport. Throughout the program, guests will gain insight into how Spey casting can be used as a highly effective tool for targeting steelhead across a variety of river and creek systems, from broad, powerful flows to smaller, technical water.

The curriculum is structured to benefit anglers of all skill levels. Beginners will build a strong foundation by learning core casting mechanics, line control, and an understanding of line design, tapers, and proper applications. More experienced anglers will have the chance to refine their technique, troubleshoot common inefficiencies, and develop a more polished and consistent casting stroke.

Whether you're stepping onto a flats skiff for the first time or looking to refine your existing skills, our Permit School offers the perfect opportunity to elevate your game. If you're looking to improve your casting in the wind, target challenging and selective species, or sharpen your overall saltwater fishing skills, this course is designed for you.

This school is set during a prime week at Beh Kay Lodge, packing 2 days of professional instruction and 4 days of guided fishing into one week. Anglers will be immersed into the exciting world of permit fly fishing while also being taught advanced casting techniques, fishing strategies, and skills essential to becoming a confident, successful, safe angler. Throughout the course, your main focus will be permit with chances for tarpon, bonefish, snook, jacks, and more!

As part of Sage Experiences, you'll use the latest Sage fly rods and RIO fly lines, specifically chosen for the unique conditions on the flats of Espiritu Santo Bay. Students will begin with classroom instruction on select mornings and evenings, followed by a full day dedicated to refining casting techniques and permit fishing tactics. On the second day, you'll focus on mastering the art of casting from a skiff in the wind. The final four days are centered around applying your newfound or improved skills on the flats, with four full days of guided fishing with professional Mexican guides.

Whether you're stepping onto a flats skiff for the first time or looking to refine your existing skills, our Bonefish School offers the perfect opportunity to elevate your game. If you're looking to improve your casting in the wind, target challenging and selective species, or sharpen your overall saltwater fishing skills, this course is designed for you.

This school is set during a prime week at Andros South Lodge, packing 2 days of professional instruction and 4 days of guided fishing into one week. Anglers will be immersed into the exciting world of Bonefish fly fishing while also being taught advanced casting techniques, fishing strategies, and skills essential to becoming a confident, successful, safe angler. Throughout the course, your main focus will be Bonefish with chances for Barracuda as well. 

Have you ever wanted to step up your trout game and become a better caster, a more successful angler, learn more about where to find and how to catch trout, and gain a deeper understanding of trout gear? The Technical Trout School is designed to help anglers master advanced casting techniques, technical trout fishing tactics, and learn the necessary skills to up the game and become a highly competent, successful trout angler.

Whether you are a seasoned fly angler or been fishing a few years and feel that it is time to get better, this trip to Montana is sure to be an enriching angling adventure. 

Students will learn in the classroom on select mornings and evenings and spend the first day learning advanced casting techniques, such as getting extra distance, improving accuracy, mastering the double haul, and how to cope with tough wind conditions.   The second day of the course is designed to really step up the game with anglers learning technical dry fly skills, advanced streamer techniques and rigs, controlled drag, mending and line control, as well as essential river casting skills, such as the roll cast, single-handed Spey casts, and fishing application casts (reach cast, aerial mend, positive curve casts, and slack line casts).  The remaining two guided days will enable guests to practice the skills learned with top Montana guides.

If you're looking to improve your casting in the wind, target challenging and selective species, or sharpen your overall saltwater fishing skills, this course is designed for you. 

The Saltwater Fly Fishing 101 is crafted to introduce anglers to the exciting world of saltwater fly fishing while also teaching advanced casting techniques, fishing strategies, and skills essential to becoming a confident, successful, safe angler. Throughout the course, you'll have the opportunity to target redfish, jacks, black drum, and sheepshead in the beautiful Texas marsh.

Students will begin with classroom instruction on select mornings and evenings, followed by a full day dedicated to refining casting techniques and saltwater fishing tactics. On the second day, you'll focus on mastering the art of casting from a skiff in the wind. The final two days are centered around applying your newfound skills in the field, with two days of guided fishing with professional Texas fly fishing guides. 

Ready for our most advanced trout school? For intermediate and experienced anglers that want to take their fly fishing to the highest standard, this Next Level school will push your boundaries and drastically improve your fly casting and fly fishing knowledge and skills.  

The school is held in Montana on the incredible, diverse and beautiful  waters that surround West Yellowstone National Park. Guests will have easy access to the Madison River in Montana, the Henry’s Fork in Idaho, the Firehole, Gibbon, and Madison Rivers within Yellowstone Park, in addition to smaller and lesser-known waters.
