The school is held in Montana on the incredible, diverse and beautiful  waters that surround West Yellowstone National Park. Guests will have easy access to the Madison River in Montana, the Henry’s Fork in Idaho, the Firehole, Gibbon, and Madison Rivers within Yellowstone Park, in addition to smaller and lesser-known waters.

This fall you’re invited to join legendary anglers and educators Simon Gawesworth and Scott O’Donnell on the banks of the Grand Ronde River near Troy, Oregon, at Speywater Lodge to take one step closer to Spey casting mastery.

 This school is designed to accommodate Spey casting students of all levels. Whether it’s your first time approaching the fundamentals of the casts, understanding line designs and tapers and the correct application for each line style, or leveling up and retooling your cast after years on the bank, the Spey Casting Mastery School will provide a wealth of knowledge on all things related to the art of Spey casting 

Whether you are a seasoned trout Spey angler or new to the sport, this trip to Montana is sure to be an exciting and educational adventure.

Students will learn in the classroom on select mornings and evenings and spend the first day learning to cast. The second day of the course is designed to teach anglers the many different fishing techniques you can fish trout Spey with, using both Sandi and Skagit heads, all while wading the rivers around West Yellowstone. The remaining two days concentrate on putting into practice the skills learned with two days of guided fishing with top trout Spey guides from Big Sky Anglers.
